I won't waste my money and time on Kevin Reilly, since he has no regard for anything but the lame ass reality shows, and more carbon copy sci fi shows.

Well, hopefully you'll still find a stamp for Regency, then? ;)

Brooke, then what we as a community should probably do is start asking people if they'd be willing to commit $40-$50 to making NA an independent show. Once the goal is reached, then we start production.

I'll commit $50. Anyone else?

The business model will change but not overnight, lol. It will be an organized, if slow moving process, and a band of fans pooling money together will not a process make.

I admire the thought, though.

Don't know if this would be of any help, but the following are contacts for the series at Fox:

<snip>

EDIT BY JTF: Thanks but, actually as Michael Roach has been EXTREMELY nice to me I'd rather not expose him to the crying masses. He's not really in a department to help/handle public issues, I don't think. ...and Alex, well, I just won't say. ;)

Hey, Diedye,
Looks like your post on the FOX board finally held - tacked on to the back of the "ATTENTION! HERE"S WHAT TO DO" thread. (re-naming that was the smartest thing I've done - It keeps being bumped to the top.)

I called the FOX line, and I wrote to Recency. I pre-ordered DVD from Amazon.
Anything else? besides crying in my scotch & soda?

Muscula, all I found (besides the UnBox links) was a 'Sign up tp be notified when this item is available' link; was that what you meant? :?

Yeah - I guess "pre-order" is a little too strong a word.

Still, I suppose even that there's a 'notification' link is a good sign ...... Going by the TDF model, maybe by the fall .....

I saw this over at the FOX NA forum:

The word is out that it's already cancelled but...I have an idea. Send an email to the SciFi channel at feedback@scifi.com and ask them to pick it up. They have taken on some cool shows that other networks have cancelled and they have thrived over there. It couldn't hurt, right? It really sucks when they pull something that we're really getting into. I liked the Journeyman too and bam, it's gone. Anyway, maybe if they get enough requests, they'll look into it.

What do you think?

AAIIIIEEEEEEEEE  :knockout: :scared: , NOOOOOOOO!!!! If the SciFi Channel didn't have the sense to renew The Dresden Files, I should think there's VERY little chance they'd pick up New Amsterdam ----- it's too good for the managment to understand it ---- AND, IF, by some million-to-one-chance, they DID, they'd probably do unto NA what they did unto Flash Gordon :scared: :knockout:  :scared: :scared: :scared:

New Regency has a new co chair...here's a PR release with contact numbers at the bottom...maybe this will be helpful. If you write, make it to Hutch Parker, who will be overseeing the TV dept. ETA: Another name--Robin Schwartz is President of New Regency.

New Amsterdam is mentioned (in good company) in the PR.

Hutch Parker and Robert Harper Join Forces at New Regency
Joint Chairmen to Oversee Film, TV for the Independent Studio

LOS ANGELES, May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Hutch Parker will join Robert Harper as Chairman of New Regency, it was announced today by Harper. The move heralds a major step forward in the growth and expansion of the industry's largest independent studio.

The pairing of Parker, currently vice chairman of Twentieth Century Fox Film Group, and Harper, a former Fox Filmed Entertainment vice chairman, will create one of the most experienced and multifaceted leadership teams in the business. The partners will share responsibility for all film, television and media-related ventures.

Harper said: "Hutch is one of the most accomplished executives in Hollywood. He brings with him an amazing depth of commercial motion picture experience as well as strong, longstanding ties with top talent. For years we have spoken of partnering more directly with one another, and now with New Regency's commitment to expanding its reach in the future, it felt like the perfect opportunity to capitalize on our relationship."

Parker said: "I've long dreamed of combining the best of studio resources with the benefits of a more flexible and entrepreneurial company. The chance to join Bob and Arnon at New Regency while continuing to work closely with our friends at Fox makes this an irresistible opportunity."

Arnon Milchan, founder, New Regency, said: "I've known both Hutch and Bob for a long time, and I was excited when Bob brought up the idea of this partnership. Having two executives with almost unparalleled diversity of experience and expertise will elevate our company to new heights."

New Regency includes a library of over 100 titles and distributes its films worldwide through Twentieth Century Fox. Regency Television is a joint venture between New Regency and Fox Television Studios.

Jim Gianopulos, Chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment, said, "This is an ideal partnership of perfectly complementary skills and experience. With New Regency's resources and their long and close relationship with Fox, Bob and Hutch will be forming what is one of the most dynamic and compelling production teams in the business and we're thrilled about this exciting new phase of our partnership."

Commented Tom Rothman, Chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment: "Hutch Parker is one of the most exceptional and well-rounded executives we have ever worked with. His many years at Fox have been characterized by consistent success and absolute integrity. Hutch going 'next door' is a true win-win for us."

Parker was named Vice Chairman of Twentieth Century Fox Film Group in 2007, prior to which he had served as President since 2005. He joined Fox in 1995 as Senior Vice President, Production, was named Executive Vice President in 1997 and became President of Production in 1999. During Parker's tenure, Fox had six record years in a row and produced numerous blockbusters, including the hugely successful X-MEN franchise, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM, BORAT, I ROBOT, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, DODGEBALL, ALIEN VS. PREDATOR, FANTASTIC FOUR, CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN, MASTER AND COMMANDER and many more.

Current and upcoming New Regency film releases include JUMPER; WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS; MEET DAVE, starring Eddie Murphy; MIRRORS, starring Kiefer Sutherland and directed by Alex Aja; MARLEY & ME, based on the best-selling novel, starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston and directed by David Frankel; BRIDE WARS, starring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway; and THEY CAME FROM UPSTAIRS.

New Regency Productions, which was founded in 1991, has produced such high-profile films as JFK, UNDER SIEGE, FREE WILLY, A TIME TO KILL, TIN CUP, DEVIL'S ADVOCATE, HEAT, L.A. CONFIDENTIAL, CITY OF ANGELS, THE NEGOTIATOR, ENTRAPMENT, FIGHT CLUB, BIG MOMMA'S HOUSE, DON'T SAY A WORD, UNFAITHFUL, DAREDEVIL, MAN ON FIRE, GUESS WHO, MR. AND MRS.
